Big Sky Farmlands
Big Sky Farmlands: Protecting our future
through an integrated approach which is
environmentally mindful, sustainable, and modern.
The 95 acres of fertile land provide room for just
about everything agricultural.
We are involved in practices such as crop
cultivation, permaculture, rotational grazing, soil
building, horse care and training, wildlife
preservation, and erosion control.
The agricultural component is complemented by an
artistic element. There are NOVA’s monumental
sculptures dotting open fields, fund raisers and
special events, celebrations, food and music
festivals, education programs, and more. The idea
is to maintain a delicate balance between the world
of “technosphere” and the incredibly beautiful and
diverse world of nature. With the passing of NOVA
in 2009, Big Sky Farmlands is now growing
through the efforts of Novas partners of decades
Tundra Wolff and Luna Shanaman [inset].
These two women are working to insure that Big
Sky Farmlands continues to grow and provide a
fertile platform for the challenges of the next
generations.
